THIS is who you would put up against a Harvard graduate?

I was forwarded a Youtube clip form a friend and had to share it today. It’s perfect, since I’m stressed for time today. This clip goes back to my posts, last week, about unqualified White workers (e.g., like Sarah Palin).

I believe the man speaking is Pastor Bryant, who is talking about how Republicans have said Sarah Palin was nominated because she represents the best of the Republican Party. The clip is about 7 minutes long. If you don’t want to listen to the entire thing, start at the 4th minute because that’s when it really takes off.

I loved the part, when he said (after talking about Palin flunking out of two community colleges and taking 7 years to get her degree): “This is who you would put up against a Harvard graduate? You’ve got the right and the nerve to speak out against a Black man who is educated, trained, loves his family and is doing all to represent his daughters…Even if you’re from the ghetto and get a degree, they’re still gonna put up somebody from a trailer park and say that’s somebody who is better than you!...”

To see the Youtube clip you can cut and paste http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Al_y3g77ZsA or CLICK ON THE TITLE OF THIS POST.

By the way, Sarah Palin is qualified to be Vice President and possibly President because she's got the foreign relations credentials of:

SHE CAN SEE PARTS OF RUSSIA FROM AN ISLAND IN ALASKA

SHE TRAVELED TO IRELAND (IT WAS A FUEL STOP, SHE NEVER GOT OFF THE PLANE)

SHE WENT TO IRAQ (IT WAS KUWAIT AND SHE STOPPED AT, BUT DID NOT CROSS INTO IRAQ)

I love how White people can hype themselves to the world. Obama being on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee is nothing to Republicans because true foreign relations credibility can only be found in a moose-eating White woman, who just got her first passport last year.

Gotta laugh at racism and hypocrisy!

I just cannot believe that even though the Republicans who have put the American economy in the worst shape since the Great Depression and following WWII that a Democrat could possibly be tied with a Republican? This is a situation where we should have seen a record number landside in the Democrats favor. I honestly believe that some whites are willing to stand on bread lines in order to support this superiority belief that blacks are less than they are.

If Sen. John McCain is saying that Sen. Barack Obama doesn’t understand then what in the world does that say about him and his choice of a running mate like Gov. Sarah Palin? To think that McCain’s selected Palin as a running mate simply to get Sen. Hillary Clinton’s left over redneck voters and put the country in jeopardy should Palin assume the office of the President proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that McCain is not capable of making a rational decision. Katie Couric and Charlie Gibson’s interviews with Palin should be a clear indication to most Americans that McCain’s running mate choice was fostered by political greed. Imagine Palin as the next President of the United States?

This current political process made me think about a scene in Roots: The Next Generation when one of the white ruling families of this southern area made a statement that goes sort-a like this: "...Education of a black person is like putting "tits on a bull." In other words, “un-necessary” as far as whites are concerned. Basically that is why it is so easy for some whites to dismiss Obama’s credentials. Our education, experience, qualifications mean nothing to most of white America, they will never see us as equals. The bottom line is we do not need their validation, we are equals – white America just needs to get over their fallacy fixation of being superior.

It all takes a full 360 degree turn back into our work environment. White redneck America doesn’t believe that we are qualified to do anything but stay in our place as they so call it just because of the color of our skin. In 2008, that’s a very sad thing!
